Before a middleware technology can be introduced, some fundamental questions must be answered which focus on the added business value of such a far-reaching infrastructure measure. Above all, the focus initially should be on more long-term, strategic considerations and only secondarily should direct economic advantages be worked out.

Each IT-based mapping of business processes first includes a critical analysis, of course and, where necessary, the optimization of individual process steps or the restructuring of entire process chains.
